A number of Saratoga students recently graduated from top-notch universities throughout the state and country, and others were named to dean’s lists for the fall and spring semesters at their respective schools.
Aylin Awbrey graduated from St. Olaf College on May 24 with a degree in exercise science. Meaghan Clark graduated from Whitman College the same day with a degree in biology.
Two students graduated from Gonzaga University on May 11. Ricardo Ramirez received a bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in religious studies, and Maryann Schwartzkopf earned a bachelor of arts in public relations with a minor in advertising.
Nihal Kamalesh Ruparel graduated from Baylor University in May with a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.
Several Saratogans were named to the dean’s list this spring.
Three students earned placement on the Gonzaga University president’s list for earning a 3.7 to 4.0 grade point average. The students are Rebecca Alberts, M. Schwartzkopf and Kristina Spring.
Patrick Schwartzkopf was named to the dean’s list at Marquette University. Schwartzkopf is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering.
William Guy made it onto the University of Wisconsin-Madison college of engineering dean’s honor list both in the spring and fall semesters.
And he wasn’t the only Saratogan who excelled last fall. Shriya Nagpal was recognized with faculty honors at Trinity College. Faculty honors are awarded each semester to the students who meet the highest standard of academic excellence, according to the college.
Kayleigh Stubblefield was named to the Whitworth University Laureate Society. Stubblefield qualified for the academic honor society by maintaining a grade-point average of at least 3.75 during the semester.
Benjamin Altabet was named to the Seaver College dean’s list at Pepperdine University. In order to earn dean’s list honors, students must be in the upper 10 percent of their class and maintain a 3.5 or better grade point average. Altabet was among 286 students to receive the honor.
Congratulations also are in order for a handful of former Saratoga students who graduated last year or were named to the dean’s list.
Grace Cousins graduated from Baylor University on Dec. 20 with a bachelor of business administration.
Radhika Hirannaiah earned a degree in electrical engineering from Wichita State University last summer.
Bellarmine College Prep alum Thomas Fredrick graduated cum laude with a degree in biology from Amherst College last May.
Also in May, a pair of students graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Shannon Fung earned a bachelor of arts in mathematics and Michelle Gargus received a bachelor of business administration in business.
