Of the seven finalists that remain in the Silicon Valley StartUp Cup, two are Saratoga-based.
Earlier this month, the second round of the regional competition was held at Crea-TV in San Jose, where 12 semifinalists each gave a 5-minute pitch to a panel of judges that includes Saratoga councilman Manny Cappello.
Seven were chosen to move on to the final round of the competition, including Farah Chadwick of Saratoga and Ryan Flanigan, a facilities manager at West Valley College. Chadwick is the founder of Startup-Pairup and Flanigan is the founder of Caked With Love. The final round takes place Oct. 30.
StartUp Cup provides an outlet for entrepreneurs who want to take an idea to market or grow an existing new business.
