With Heritage Day, the official opening of Wildwood Market and St. Nicholas’ Russian Festival all scheduled for the weekend of Sept. 28, the possibilities for fun and culture are endless. Also worth checking out: the Saint Archangel Michael Orthodox Serbian Church’s Balkan Night event.
Balkan Night promises an evening of jazz, dancing, authentic Balkan grilled meats and homemade desserts. The main performer of the evening will be Larry Vuckovich and Larry’s Blue Balkan Ensemble. Branko Bubalo will play the accordion and the singer Valeriana will also make a guest appearance.
Tickets for the event, including dinner, are $30 in advance and $35 at the door. Children under 12 get in for free. Tickets can be purchased at samichael.org. Alternatively, people can buy them at the hall on Sundays between noon and 1 p.m.
The event will take place from 6 to 11 p.m. on Sept. 28 at Saint Archangel Michael Orthodox Serbian Church Hall, 18870 Allendale Ave. in Saratoga.
Balkan Night is organized by Kolo, a women’s group at the church.
