Snow in Saratoga? Thanks to the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce, there will be buckets full this winter–just add water!
Beginning Nov. 29, the Chamber will sell snow for $5. Add a little water for a bucket of snow, or 80 ounces, for holiday decorating or entertainment. The snow is non-allergenic, non-toxic and, depending on care, is expected to last several weeks.
This is the first time the Chamber will sell snow, and the white stuff will be available as long as supplies last.
The snow sale is part of the Chamber’s annual Village Open House, also slated for Nov. 29 along Big Basin Way. A wine stroll and the annual tree-lighting event are highlights of the night.
Among the activities planned for that day are horse-drawn carriage rides, a visit from Santa Claus, a snow zone, entertainment, craftspeople, a petting zoo, special children’s activities and snow machines.
Sponsorships at various monetary levels are being sought for some of the activities planned. Those interested in community service and volunteering are also asked to consider helping, and entertainers are wanted for caroling, playing music and other traditional holiday entertainment.
