“Send Silence Packing,” an award-winning public education exhibit of 1,100 backpacks representing the 1,100 college students who die by suicide every year, will be on display at the West Valley College Viking Grove and Kirkorian Pavilion on Oct. 8.
Active Minds, a young adult mental health advocacy organization, will present the exhibit and hand out literature on mental health, suicide prevention and where to seek help.
West Valley College is one of 11 locations statewide where the exhibit is being shown.
