A woman whose body was found in a San Jose home this morning was murdered, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a home in the 1200 block of Whitton Avenue at 11:09 a.m., police said.
The discovery of the body was initially reported to the fire department by a female resident.
Officers arrived to find the body of a 52-year-old woman and determined she had been killed.
Police are withholding details about the crime because it is in the early stage of investigation.
Detectives have not yet identified a suspect or motive in the case, but are saying the homicide does not appear to be gang-related.
