A man wearing a fake wig, beard and mustache robbed a Wells Fargo Bank in Cupertino this morning, sheriff’s Sgt. Rick Sung said.

Deputies responded to a report of a robbery around 9:55 a.m. at 10260 South De Anza Blvd.

Witnesses told police a man with poor posture walked up to a teller and gave her a note demanding money and indicating that he had a weapon, Sung said.

The suspect then took an undisclosed amount of cash, left the bank and fled in a late 1980s tan or light brown two-door vehicle similar to a coupe.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 40s, standing at about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, blue sweatpants and white tennis shoes.

Authorities believe he acted alone. No weapon was seen and no one was injured, Sung said.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Detective Sgt. David Lera or Detective Sgt. Fred Alanis at the sheriff’s office at (408) 808-4500.
