Police are investigating the murder of a 20-year-old man in San Jose Wednesday night, police spokesman Dirk Parsons said.
A fight was reported at the corner of Willard Avenue and San Carlos Street at about 9:30 p.m., Parsons said.
Officers responded and found the victim suffering from multiple stab and gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he died.
Investigators determined that at least two male suspects had approached and attacked the victim then fled.
The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
The motive is unknown, but it is possible the murder was gang-related, Parsons said. The death marks the city’s seventh homicide of the year.
