San Jose police Tuesday arrested a 53-year-old transient suspected of fatally stabbing another transient in a homeless encampment behind a radio station on Monday.
Miguel Garcia was arrested late Tuesday night in an undisclosed location in San Jose, police said today.
Garcia is suspected of stabbing another man shortly before 1 a.m. Monday behind AM radio station KSJX, located at 501 Wooster Ave.
Police said the stabbing occurred in the midst of a physical fight between the men. The nature of their relationship has not been determined, according to police.
The 46-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene and his name is being withheld pending notification of his family.
Garcia was booked into the Santa Clara County jail on murder charges. The motive for the killing is remains investigation.
The stabbing was the city’s sixth homicide of the year, police said.
