Fairfield police are searching for a 28-year-old man who allegedly stabbed a woman who was visiting his ex-girlfriend’s house today.
The stabbing took place around 6 a.m. in the 1900 block of Bramblewood Drive, according to police.
The victim, a 43-year-old Fairfield resident was visiting the suspect’s alleged, 34-year-old ex-girlfriend when the suspect fought with the victim and stabbed her four times, according to police.
Police said initially the woman who lives at the residence answered the door, hadn’t seen anyone at the doorstep, but heard noises near the side garage door. The woman closed the front door, but left it unlocked and had gone to the garage to investigate. The suspect entered the residence through the front door and confronted the victim in an upstairs bedroom where he also stabbed her, according to police.
Police identified the suspect as Vincent Navarro, described as a Hispanic man about 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing at about 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. He bears a tattoo on the left side of his neck that reads “Corina.” Police consider him to be armed and dangerous.
Navarro is on parole for evading police and is listed as a resident of Fairfield with possible ties to the Manteca area.
A parole search of Navarro’s residence was conducted without his presence. Police believe the motive behind the stabbing appears to be associated with the current relationship of the female resident.
