A one-alarm blaze at a house in San Jose this afternoon caused an estimated $100,000 in damage and displaced the residents, a fire spokesman said.
The fire was reported at a one-story house in the 4900 block of Alex Drive around 1:35 p.m., fire Capt. Mike Van Elgort said.
Firefighters arrived to find the roof and attic on fire. They had the fire under control at about 2:05 p.m., he said.
Firefighters rescued a dog from the house, but the occupants were not home and no one was injured, Van Elgort said.
He said the fire caused a “substantial amount of damage” to the home.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
