A 52-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash in Los Gatos early Sunday morning.

An officer found Timothy Halpin injured on an embankment on south Blossom Hill Road east of state Highway 17 around 2:35 a.m., according to Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police.

Halpin, a Los Gatos resident, was conscious and was transported to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, but succumbed to his injuries there around 8:30 a.m., police said.

A preliminary investigation indicated that Halpin was riding west on Blossom Hill Road when, after passing East Roberts Road, he failed to negotiate a right turn in the road, police said. He drifted left across the eastbound lane, struck a curb and went over the embankment.

Halpin’s damaged motorcycle was found on the embankment, police said.

Police are investigating the crash and ask anyone with information to call Sgt. Steve Walpole at (408) 354-6851.
