Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority light rail and bus riders will enjoy a new convenience beginning Wednesday with the introduction of a new electronic messaging service that will send participants up-to-the-minute information via text message.
The GovDelivery service, used by many government agencies and organizations, was developed to provide residents with improved service and access to information.
The service has the capacity to electronically notify participants about information on VTA’s Web site regarding topics pre-selected by the user.
Such topics include information about unexpected service changes, specific light rail and bus routes schedules, construction and planning projects and public meetings and agendas for the VTA Board of Directors meetings.
