A coalition of human rights activists and elected officials will hold a demonstration and fundraisers at Harvey Milk Plaza in San Francisco today in solidarity with the Iraqi lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered people who are facing violence.
Rainbow World Fund, an LGBT international humanitarian relief charity, is sponsoring the event and holding a fundraiser at the rally to benefit the Iraqi LGBT community.
Speakers at the rally will include state Sen. Mark Leno, Supervisor Bevan Dufty, San Francisco Police Commission President Theresa Sparks, Karen Kai of the Rainbow World Fund and political artist Clinton Fein.
The rally will begin at 12:30 p.m. at Harvey Milk Plaza, located at Castro and Market streets.
