The Santa Cruz County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of an 88-year-old man whose body was found on railroad tracks in Watsonville Tuesday afternoon.
An employee of United Agriculture Products found the man’s body on railroad tracks behind the business at 367 Ford St. at about 3:50 p.m., Watsonville police said.
The man was identified as Miguel Alvarez, who was reported missing after walking away from his home on Grant Street in Watsonville the evening of April 6, police said.
The tracks were not in use and were blocked off by a chain-link fence, police said.
It was not immediately clear when Alvarez died. There were no apparent signs of foul play, according to police.
