Five days after a Santa Clara County Superior Court judge handed down a prison life sentence to DeShawn Campbell for murdering a San Jose police officer, his brother was arrested in south San Jose on Wednesday on charges of performing lewd acts with a child, according to San Jose police.
Nickholas Campbell, 22, of San Jose, was booked into jail on multiple counts of sex offenses with minors, as well as for possession of marijuana for sales.
Shortly after noon Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a child molestation incident at a home in the city.
Employees with the county’s Department of Family and Child Services notified police that the suspect had sexually molested the victim and that he had possibly sexually molested other underage girls at the residence, some of them who were allegedly related to him, according to police.
The victim is a 15-year-old girl from San Jose, police said.
Anyone with information about the sexual molestations are urged to contact Detective D. McMullen of the San Jose Police Department’s sexual assault unit at (408) 277-4102 or crime stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867) to remain anonymous.
