Candlelight vigil in Salinas to honor memory of murder victims

Community members in Salinas will gather for a special candlelight vigil today to honor the memory of murder victims as part of a National Day of Remembrance.

The vigil, hosted by the group Parents of Murdered Children and the Monterey County District Attorney’s crime victims unit, will honor the victims’ memories and recognize the impact of homicides on surviving family members and friends.

The vigil will be open to the public and will take place at 7 p.m. at the Board of Supervisors chambers in the Salinas Courthouse at 168 West Alisal St.
