CHP investigates fatal crash on Hwy 101 near Bradley Friday afternoon

Authorities on Friday afternoon responded to a fatal two-car crash on southbound U.S. Highway 101 south of Bradley in Monterey County, according to Cal Fire.

The collision occurred at about 12:30 p.m. near the Bradley rest area, Cal Fire officials said.

Two vans carrying 10 passengers each collided, causing one of the vans to roll and eject two passengers, Cal Fire officials said.

Two victims were airlifted and two others were taken by ambulance to hospitals, according to Cal Fire officials.

The South Monterey County Fire Protection District provided assistance, along with the Camp Roberts, San Luis Obispo County and San Miguel fire departments.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
