The Contra Costa County coroner’s office has identified Aaron Angel Beltran, 16, as the victim of a homicide near a park in Richmond on Monday.
Beltran, a Richmond resident, was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds at about 5:40 p.m. on the Cypress Path, which cuts through Eastshore State Park in the 5000 block of Creely Avenue, according to Lt. Mike Gormley.
Two males in dark clothing were seen leaving the area after the shooting.
Police Sgt. Bisa French said a 17-year-old male was arrested today for the homicide. Investigators are seeking a second suspect in connection with the shooting, French said.
