Deputies look for man suspected of armed robbery at gas station

The Monterey County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a man who held a female clerk at gunpoint and robbed a gas station in north Prunedale this morning.

A man wearing a black baseball cap with “L.A.” on the front walked into Dick’s Valero, located at 1040 El Camino Real, at about 5:05 a.m. and demanded money at gunpoint, according to the sheriff’s office.

He left with about $394 in cash, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect was described as a man between 28 and 32 years old, standing at about 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 155 pounds. He had black hair and was wearing a black T-shirt with a design on the front, blue jeans and brown shoes or boots. His cap had a white design on a small portion of the bill.
