San Jose police on Thursday arrested a man in connection with the murder of 56-year-old Salvador Pena inside a jewelry store in December.
Mykal Myrick, 26, was arrested and booked on suspicion of stabbing Pena inside a store in the 1500 block of Alum Rock Avenue on the night of Dec. 15, according to police.
Pena was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening wounds. He succumbed to his injuries on Jan. 7.
Myrick and Pena were acquaintances, police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.
He said it appears that Myrick attacked Pena following a verbal altercation.
