A man who was brought to Santa Clara County’s Main Jail in San Jose on Tuesday evening to be booked on drug charges died at a hospital after suffering a medical problem, authorities said.
Shortly after he arrived at the jail around 8:30 p.m., the inmate began acting erratically and appeared to be having a medical episode, according to the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office.
He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
