A man was injured in a drive-by shooting Sunday evening while standing in the front yard of a home in Antioch, police said.
The shooting happened around 6:35 p.m. Sunday at a home in the first block of Rossi Avenue.
Police said the victim was standing with other people in the yard when a dark, mid-size car passed and someone inside fired several shots. The victim was struck in the back, police said.
He was transported to a hospital, but police said his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
A bullet also hit an occupied van that was parked in front of the home, police said. Officers later found the van a block away and discovered that it had been reported stolen.
Another confrontation occurred minutes after the shooting several blocks away and involved the same suspects and vehicle, police said. Witnesses reported that gang signs and gunfire were exchanged in that confrontation but that no one was injured.
Anyone with information on the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department at (925) 778-2441.
