Santa Clara police have arrested a teenager for allegedly fatally stabbing a 20-year-old man during an altercation in the city’s Central Park early this morning, according to police.
Officers responded to a report of an injured man at about 2 a.m. near the tennis courts at the park, located at 909 Kiely Blvd. By the time officers arrived, the man had succumbed to his wounds.
An investigation into the stabbing revealed the man was accompanied by a group of acquaintances and had gotten involved in a fight, according to police.
The name of the 17-year-old suspect is being withheld because of his age. He remained in custody today.
The incident does not appear to be gang-related, according to police.
