The personnel expansion of a Fairfield police gang unit in April proved to be successful in the Police Department’s mission to target gang members and reduce crime through enforcement and education.
The Special Enforcement Team was expanded from five to eight detectives at the beginning of April.
The team made 20 felony arrests, 35 misdemeanor arrests, recovered two occupied stolen cars, helped serve seven narcotic search warrants, conducted 19 probation searches and six parolee searches.
The team worked alongside several agencies in this effort, including the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, FBI Violent Gang Safe Streets Task Force and Solano County District Attorney’s Office.
