A man who was murdered in San Jose last week has been identified as 20-year-old Jose Antonio Vega Calderon, police spokesman Dirk Parsons said.
Calderon was found suffering from multiple stab and gunshot wounds at about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday at the corner of Willard Avenue and San Carlos Street. He died later that night at a hospital.
Investigators determined that at least two males had approached and attacked Calderon then fled.
Calderon’s city of residence has not been determined. Parsons said Calderon had a Mexican identification card on him.
The motive is unknown, but it is possible the murder was gang-related, Parsons said.
Calderon’s death marks San Jose’s seventh homicide of the year.
