Police today released photos of an unidentified teenage boy suspected in a shooting in front of a home in Watsonville last week.

The shooting occurred around 5:25 a.m. on May 27 at a home in the 400 block of Second Street, according to police.

Police said a teenage boy was washing his car in the driveway when the suspect, a boy who appeared to be 16 years old and wearing a black sweatshirt, approached him, said a few words and then fired five or shots at the victim.

The bullets did not strike the victim or an adult female and small child who were standing in the driveway next to the victim, police said.

The bullets, however, penetrated another home on the block.

Investigators have been working with schools and juvenile probation to identify the suspect. He was described as a Hispanic boy, standing around 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the Police Department at (831) 471-1170, the investigations bureau at (831) 768-3350 or the crime tip line at (831) 768-3544.
