Police release sketch of man suspected in shooting

Santa Cruz police today released a sketch of a man suspected in a shooting earlier this month in hopes of identifying him.

Police are seeking the man in connection with the shooting of Jared Floodman on June 12 in the 200 block of California Avenue.

Floodman was transported to Dominican Hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He has since been released.

The suspect fled after the shooting and remains at large.

He is described as a white or Hispanic man in his late 20s who is around 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He has a medium build, brown eyes and medium complexion.

He was last seen wearing a black and blue baseball cap with white embroidery.

The motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.

Police are continuing to investigate the case.
