Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a 3-year-old boy who went missing this afternoon from his home in San Jose.

The child, identified as Phillip “Philly” Camacho, was last seen at about 11:45 a.m. playing near the driveway of his home, located at 1735 Flint Creek Way, according to police.

Camacho’s 14-year-old brother told officers he last saw him playing in the garage after their mother left to go shopping, police officials said. The brother was with Camacho in the garage, but left him alone to go inside and use the bathroom. When he returned, the boy was nowhere to be seen, according to what the brother told police.

Police are trying to get in touch with the boy’s mother to see if he is with her. In the meantime, the county’s search and rescue unit is assisting police to search areas near the child’s home.

He is described as a Puerto Rican, standing at about 3 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 40 pounds. He was last seen wearing white pajamas with a “Mario Bros.” design.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call 911 or contact the Police Department at (408) 277-4786. Anonymous calls can be made by contacting Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867) or visiting http://svcrimestoppers.org/.
