Richmond police today are searching for suspects in connection with the non-fatal shooting of two teenagers that occurred in the city early this morning, a police lieutenant said.

Officers were notified of the shooting at about midnight in the 1400 block of Carlson Boulevard.

Arriving officers found a 19-year-old man suffering from at least one gunshot wound on the porch of a home in the area.

Lt. Manjit Sappal said the officers also spotted a 19-year-old woman who had been shot at least once in the driver’s seat of a Buick that was parked near the house. Next to her was a 25-year-old man who was unharmed, Sappal said.

Officers determined that the victims had been traveling in the direction of 55th and Mariposa streets when they became aware of a green Ford Taurus behind them, Sappal said. A short while later a person inside the Ford opened fire on the Buick, he said.

The victims were transported to a local hospital and are believed to be in stable condition, according to Sappal.

Information about the three suspects inside the car was not immediately available. The connection between the victim found on the porch and the two victims inside the car was also unknown.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting is encouraged to contact the Richmond Police Department at (510) 620-6643.
