Police seek public’s help in identifying suspects in 2008 homicide

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in gathering additional information about the 2008 murder of a 16-year-old San Jose boy.

The victim, Ricky Edward Montoya Gerkin, was found shot to death around 1:45 a.m. on Aug. 15, 2008, in the parking lot of a convenience store on King Road at Flannigan Drive.

No one has been arrested in the case and police have not been able to identify the suspect’s vehicle, police said.

Investigators ask anyone with information about the case to call the homicide unit at (408) 277-5283. Those wishing to remain anonymous can call the Crime Stoppers tip line at (408) 947-STOP (7867). Callers may be eligible for a cash reward.
