The wet, cold weather the San Francisco Bay Area experienced over the weekend should subside for a few days but is expected to return for the second game of the World Series on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.
Most of the Bay Area will be dry and partly cloudy through Wednesday, meteorologist Charles Bell said.
Dense fog is expected tonight in Santa Rosa and other parts of the North Bay. Bell said it could last until Tuesday morning.
“There may be a few problems on the road for commuters,” he said.
Cold weather is expected to settle in Tuesday night.
North Bay residents with outdoor plants are advised to take precautions in anticipation of a frost formation, the first of the season, Bell said. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 30s to lower 40s.
On Thursday, another storm system from the Pacific will move in, potentially bringing an inch of rain and moderate winds, Bell said.
The warmest areas this week will be in the Contra Costa area, namely Concord and Antioch, with temperatures reaching the upper 60s on Wednesday. The coldest areas will be in the North Bay, with the lowest temperatures dipping in the mid to upper 30s Tuesday night.
