A 59-year-old Santa Cruz man who is registered as a sex offender was arrested Monday for allegedly violating the terms of his probation, according to Santa Cruz police.
Police arrested Richard Nash at about 6:40 p.m. at Motel Santa Cruz, located at 370 Ocean St.
Nash was suspected of accessing child pornography online, police said.
Detectives searched his motel room and found two computers they believe Nash used to access child pornography, police said.
Nash was booked into Santa Cruz County jail for violating the terms of his probation and for possessing methamphetamine.
Police will send all items seized to the district attorney’s office for consideration of charges against Nash for possessing child pornography.
