SJ bank robbery suspect connected to robbery of Patelco Credit Union Saturday

A man suspected of robbing a San Jose bank in April is the same suspect in the robbery of a bank in Milpitas over the weekend, San Jose police said today.

The most recent robbery occurred at 1:40 p.m. on Saturday at Patelco Credit Union, located at 1487 Landess Ave., according to police.

The previous robbery occurred at about 3:50 p.m. on April 29 at Meriwest Credit Union, located at 5683 Cottle Road, according to police.

The suspect entered the bank, gave the teller a note and then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

The suspect is described as a black man in his mid 30s to mid 40s and about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He is balding, weighs around 200 pounds and has black facial hair and dark spots on both cheeks.

He was last seen wearing sunglasses and an orange long-sleeved shirt.

San Jose police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the man and ask anyone with information about the San Jose robbery to contact Detective Sgt. J. Fong at (408) 277-4167. Anyone with information about the Milpitas robbery is asked to call Sgt. M. Nobida at (408) 586-2400.
