Mountain View police are warning motorists to anticipate significant traffic delays surrounding the Shoreline Amphitheatre this afternoon and tonight due to a sold-out concert at the venue.

Nearly 22,000 concertgoers are expected to arrive around 4 p.m. for country music singer Jason Aldean’s 7:30 p.m. concert.

Traffic is likely to be at its worst beginning around 6 p.m. on U.S. Highway 101 and state Highways 85 and 237, as well as on city streets near the venue.

Officers will be in the area to direct traffic for people who work in the area.

Drivers are advised to be aware of an increase in pedestrians and bicyclists.

Those who are not attending the concert should avoid the area altogether, police said.
