Firefighters are battling a two-alarm residential fire in San Jose this afternoon, a fire spokeswoman said.
About 50 firefighters are at the scene of the blaze, which is burning at a home in the 1100 block of West San Carlos Street, fire Capt. Mary Gutierrez said.
The fire was reported at about 11:50 a.m. and had been contained as of 12:20 p.m.
Seven people were inside the house and were evacuated.
A man and woman were taken to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation, Gutierrez said.
