Monterey County sheriff’s deputies arrested two people on suspicion of possessing drugs in Monterey over the weekend.
Deputies served an arrest warrant about 3 p.m. Saturday at 7172 Oak Tree Place.
The suspects, identified as 40-year-old James Pascho and 49-year-old Mary Schwan, were allegedly found in possession of crystal methamphetamine and a methamphetamine pipe, according to the sheriff’s office. Deputies believe the pair had tried to destroy the drug and pipe.
Pascho appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance, the sheriff’s office said.
Pascho, who was on probation for possession of methamphetamine, was booked into Monterey County jail. Schwan was not arrested at the home, but charges were filed against her, according to the sheriff’s office.
