San Jose police arrested two men and are asking for the public’s help in locating a third in connection with a carjacking and shooting last month.

On April 25, the suspects met with a pair of men, ages 20 and 24, in the parking lot of a shopping center around 10:30 p.m., according to police.

A dispute between the two groups ensued and at least one member brandished a firearm and shot at the victims, striking one of them, police said.

The group then dispersed, and one fled with a car belonging to one of the victims. Patrol officers stopped the car after a brief pursuit and arrested the driver, identified as Steven Rodriguez, 38, of San Jose.

During their investigation, police arrested Devin Malloy, a 23-year-old San Jose resident, in connection with the crime.

The third suspect, identified as 26-year-old Christopher Cuneo, remains at-large and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. He is a San Jose resident and also goes by the names Christopher Walker and Christopher Luneo.

The shooting victim was treated at a hospital for a wound that was not considered life-threatening.

Police are continuing to investigate the relationship between the suspects and victims, as well as the motive for the shooting.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Detective William Young at (408) 277-4166. Those who wish to remain anonymous may call the Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers at (408) 947-STOP (7867) or visit http://svcrimestoppers.org/.
