Woman struck by vehicle succumbs to injuries

A 43-year-old woman who was struck by a vehicle while crossing a street in Los Gatos last week has died, Los Gatos-Monte Sereno police said.

Los Gatos resident Tamara Hageman was hit by a car on Blossom Hill Road just east of Oak Rim Way on the night of Dec. 1.

She was taken to Santa Clara Valley Medical Center with multiple broken bones and severe head trauma. Hageman remained in critical condition in the hospital’s intensive care unit until she succumbed to her injuries Monday afternoon.

Hageman was walking on the north side of Blossom Hill Road when she attempted to cross the street in mid-block east of Oak Rim Way, according to police. She was not within a crosswalk, police said.

A car traveling west, driven by a 19-year-old woman from Los Gatos, struck Hageman in the No. 1 lane. She told police her view of the pedestrian was obstructed by the car in the next lane.

She was not injured and will not be cited or charged, according to police.
