A jury in San Jose today convicted a Los Gatos doctor of sexual battery nearly a year after he was arrested for inappropriately touching a female patient during an examination, according to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office.
Jose Bolanos, 54, was found guilty of one count of misdemeanor sexual battery after five hours of jury deliberation.
Bolanos, who worked as a gynecologist at the La Femme Health Care Center in Los Gatos and has practiced medicine in Santa Clara County for more than 20 years, was arrested in September 2008 after several former patients and medical workers reported past incidents with the doctor.
A judge will set a sentencing date for Bolanos on Aug. 18. He faces a maximum sentence of one year in county jail.
