Caltrans to begin construction on state Route 24 and I-980

The California Department of Transportation will close a shoulder and left lane on state Highway 24 in Alameda County beginning Monday to remove existing landscaping and pave a planting strip.

Construction will occur in the median area and require the closure of the shoulder and left lane on the highway from the Golden Gate undercrossing to the state Highway 24 and Interstate Highway 580 separation.

The closure is scheduled to occur Monday through Thursday from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. and additionally from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. on April 17.

Construction will continue at Interstate Highway 980 from the Highway 580 junction to the San Pablo Avenue undercrossing. Closure of the left lane and shoulder is scheduled to take place Tuesday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. and additionally from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. on April 17.
