Casino night is a museum fundraiser

Step inside the Orchard City Banquet Hall on the night of April 21 and you’ll feel as if you’re in Las Vegas in the days when the Rat Pack ruled Sin City.

For the first time this year, the Campbell Historical Museum and Ainsley House Foundation are holding a casino night fundraiser to help support operations, as well as exhibits and educational programs at the Campbell Museum.

Museum director Karen Lange promises “a great evening and lots of fun for a good cause.” Community members who attend “might win something really special, and they’ll be supporting the Campbell Museum,” she said.

The foundation supports both the Campbell Museum–which displays artifacts and memorabilia that reflect the roots of Campbell’s agricultural past–and the Ainsley House, an English Tudor-style home that was built in 1925 for Campbell canning pioneer J.C. Ainsley and his wife Alcinda.

The casino night will include blackjack, switch blackjack, roulette, poker, bingo and craps. A ticket buys chips to start betting, as well as appetizers. There will be music from the Rat Pack, a silent auction and a cash bar.

The theme of the evening will be Las Vegas in the 1950s. There is no dress code for this event. Guests must be 21 or older. The event will be held on April 21 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. at the Orchard City Banquet Hall.

The cost is a $35 donation in advance and $40 donation at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the museum office or online at www.brownpapertickets.com/event/216159.
