A 61-year-old Santa Cruz County maintenance worker died in an accident this morning while clearing brush, county officials said.
The man, who had worked for the county since 1969, was helping Public Works Department road crews at the time.
The county’s mental health crisis team is providing support to employees who were present when the accident happened. The county did not immediately provide details on the incident.
The county is investigating the death.
