Vacaville police arrested a man who crashed a stolen flatbed truck into a Greyhound bus station on Mason Street Saturday evening after leading officers on a pursuit and disregarding traffic laws, according to police.
Police responded to a call around 10:30 p.m. from a concerned citizen who reported the driver of the truck, Brandon Savage, was driving erratically through several city side streets before entering the freeway, police said.
Police located Savage taking the Allison Drive exit and initiated a traffic stop. Savage ignored the demand and led police on a pursuit southbound on Allison Drive and onto westbound Elmira Road.
Savage drove over a raised cement center divider and into oncoming traffic to avoid police, before driving into the bus station where he sheered through a tree and struck the cement brick and metal pillar supporting a patio awning, according to police.
Savage was arrested for vehicle theft, police evasion and disregard for the safety of others.
Both Savage and the female passenger he had been traveling with were both taken to VacaValley Hospital. He was treated for facial injuries and then booked into Solano County Jail.
The female passenger was treated for minor cuts and abrasions.
