A transient who was struck and killed by a bus in San Jose on Sunday night was identified by the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office today as 33-year-old Charlie Regalado.
A Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority bus struck Regalado, a San Jose resident, as he walked near the intersection of East Capitol Expressway and Aborn Road at about 5 p.m., San Jose police Sgt. Ronnie Lopez said.
Regalado was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe he may have been intoxicated.
No other injuries were reported, and the incident is still under investigation.
