Police in Watsonville are looking for four people who broke into a home last week, held a 19-year-old tenant at gunpoint and made off with several electronic items and marijuana plants.

The robbery occurred about 1 p.m. on Thursday at a home on La Jolla Street, police said.

As the tenant emerged from the bathroom, she was confronted by a female suspect who pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The suspect ordered the tenant to lie on the ground and close her eyes while four people ransacked the house and stole electronic items and medical marijuana plants, police said.

On their way out, the suspects warned the tenant not to call police. The tenant was not harmed, police said.

She described the female suspect who held her at gunpoint as a Hispanic woman, between 22 and 25 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and 135 pounds. She had black hair that was braided in a ponytail and was wearing a gray oversized hooded sweatshirt and dark blue plaid knee-length boy shorts.

The male suspect was described as a Hispanic man between 22 and 25 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds. He had an average build, black eyebrows, no facial hair, and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, with the hood over his head.

The other two suspects, a male and female, were not seen, but heard only.

Police are investigating whether the suspects intended to commit a home invasion robbery or a burglary in which they believed no one was home.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the crime tip line at (831) 728-3544 or the investigation bureau at (831) 768-3352.
