A 44-year-old man suspected of trying to set up a sex date with a 16-year-old girl was arrested in Lafayette on Tuesday.
Guy Allan Quinton was taken into custody on an arrest warrant following months of investigation by the Martinez Police Department.
Investigators believe Quinton had sent the teenage girl sexually explicit material and had suggested they meet for a sexual encounter, police said.
He is in custody in Contra Costa County jail in Martinez in lieu of $150,000 bail.
Quinton is a resident of Walnut Creek and Martinez.
