Officers conducting an underage decoy sting in Pleasanton last Wednesday fined six businesses suspected of supplying alcohol to a minor, according to police.
Two 18-year-old decoys from the Pleasanton Police Department’s youth and community services unit entered 21 licensed businesses throughout the city Wednesday night, and with valid identification attempted to purchase alcohol, according to police.
The underage police volunteers succeeded at six businesses, and police observers fined the employees responsible.
The businesses that violated the drinking law were Express Liquors, Family Deli and Food, Food and Beverage, Vista Bottle Shop, Santa Rita Chevron and Raley’s supermarket.
The state department of Alcoholic Beverage Control will consider additional administrative action on the stores’ liquor license.
