San Jose police today identified Lijia Zheng as the woman who was allegedly stabbed to death by her boyfriend last week.
Peter Shui, 48, was arrested for 33-year-old Zheng’s death early Friday morning at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Albany Drive, according to police.
Police said Shui called 911 around 2:40 a.m. on Friday and confessed to killing his girlfriend. Dispatchers kept him on the phone until officers responded and took him into custody.
Zheng was found suffering from stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the apartment. Her death marks San Jose’s third domestic violence-related homicide this year.
The motive for the stabbing remains under investigation.
