Monterey County sheriff’s detectives are looking for a teenager who escaped after allegedly leading deputies on a vehicle pursuit in Salinas Thursday night.

Deputies attempted to stop Andrew Salcido, 19, at about 9:50 p.m. at Rogge Road and Kelton Drive because the front and rear license plates of his Honda Civic had different numbers, according to the sheriff’s office.

Salcido sped off and led the deputies on a pursuit before crashing into a porch and knocking down a pillar and several potted plants, the sheriff’s office said.

He fled on foot and was still at large this afternoon.

Salcido is a resident of Salinas and is currently on felony probation.

He is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 165 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
